World Champion Katie Taylor AIBA Boxer of the Year

Ireland's World Champion Boxing, Katie Taylor, has been named the AIBA World female boxer of the year for the second time in two years.
AIBA President Dr Ching-Kuo Wu confirmed that the Bray woman would be presented with the award at the AIBA Awards Ceremony in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 2 November.
Katie Taylor beat China's Cheng Dong 18-5 to claim her third AIBA World lightweight title on the trot in Barbados last month.

The win against Dong was Taylor's 100th victory from 106 bouts since 2001.
IABA President Tommy Murphy welcomed the news and said: 'What Katie has achieved over the last number of years has been absolutely astonishing and we are delighted and very proud that she is receiving this award from AIBA in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the sport.
'Katie is a fantastic ambassador for Irish amateur boxing and for Irish sport.
